How it works

The name says it all. Correctly predict the outcome of the fight events listed and win! Events will include UFC fights, and UFC Undisputed 2009 in-game events. For each event, you'll be presented with five fights to predict. Your ranking within the UFC Undisputed Community will be based not only on your ability to predict who will win each fight, but how a fighter will win, what round he'll win in, and predicting the fight right down to the minute of the win. Correct predictions earn you points, and those points earn you badges and belts, and may eventually determine the cool prizes you can also win.

Rules

OVERVIEW

The UFC® Predict and Win game (the "Game") tests your skill and knowledge of Ultimate Fighting® by allowing you to choose the winner of every match in the upcoming event. Check back before every event to make your predictions. Earn points for each correct selection and collect online virtual prizes for your UFC Community profile.

ELIGIBILITY

The Game is open to persons who are at least seventeen (17) years of age or older and are registered members of the online community for the videogame UFC®: Undisputed™ (the “Community”) as of the date of registration. Employees, officers, directors, members, agents, representatives and their immediate family members (and those living in the same household) of Sponsors, their advertising and promotion agencies or any person or entity connected with the production, administration or judging of the Game, or any of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents or representatives, that are members of the Community may play the Game, but are not eligible to win should any actual prizes be awarded for participation. Each participant in the Game must be the rightful owner or have authorized use of the e-mail account associated with the e-mail address provided by the registered Community member. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of the winner, the winner will be deemed to be the person in whose name the e-mail account is opened at the time of registration. If you are not seventeen (17) years of age or older you may not register for the Community or play the Game.

TO REGISTER

Sign up as a Community member at http://community.ufcundisputed.com or via www.UFCundisputed.com (the “Sites”). No purchase required. To become a member, you will be required to enter your first and last name, e-mail address, birth date, language, time zone and will be asked to create a Community username and password, which will be used for future login to the Community. All Community members are subject to the Sites’ Terms of Use. Once registered, follow the links and directions provided on the Site to access and play the Game. You may register for the Community and enter the Game at any time up to 30 (thirty) minutes prior to the start time of the first bout on the card. Only one entry per member allowed.

PLAYING THE GAME

To participate in the Game, you will make selections for each fight card in the upcoming UFC event. Selections must be made for each fight card that make up the entire event. For each fight card, you will predict four (4) different categories: the winner of the match; the round the fight will end; the minute in the round you think the match will end; and the type of victory the match will end in. Points will be awarded for correct selections in each category. Points for a correct selection one category will be awarded despite an incorrect selection in another category (i.e. even if you fail to select the correct winner of the match, but do correctly predict the type of victory, you would still be awarded points for the correct selection). In the event a fighter falls out of card, your selection will not be changed. It is the responsibility of the participant to login and make a new selection based on the updated fight card.

SCORING

Participants will be awarded points for correct selections in each category based on the following scoring system:

1) 100 points for selecting the winning fighter
2) 250 points for selecting the round the fight will end in
3) 150 points for selecting the minute the fight will conclude
4) 500 points for selecting the method of victory

Based on receiving such points, participants will be awarded online “badges” as achievements. When an achievement has been unlocked, a graphic will display in addition to the name of the achievement. If an achievement has not been unlocked, an empty slot in the shape of the graphic a participant is working toward will be displayed. Eight (8) possible achievement badges will be available as follows:

1) 12000 points 'Casual Viewer Achievement'
2) 13200 points 'Armchair Broadcaster Achievement'
3) 30000 points 'Prospect Achievement'
4) 44400 points 'Amateur Achievement'
5) 67200 points 'Contender Achievement'
6) 81600 points 'Main Eventer Achievement'
7) 93600 points 'Champion Achievement'
8) 105600 points 'Hall of Famer Achievement'

In addition, a Championship belt will be available for each of the five (5) weight classes based on a participant’s ability to accurately predict that weight class and subsequently top that weight class specific leader-board. The leader-board will reflect who is in first place after each UFC Event. All ties on the leader-boards will result in the belt title being “vacant” until there is a clear champion in each weight class. Belts will be awarded at least once a quarter in THQ’s sole discretion, unless as noted above, in the case of a tie. Five (5) possible achievement belts will be available as follows:

1) Lightweight: 145 to 155 lb (67 to 70 kg)
2) Welterweight: 156 to 170 lb (71 to 77 kg)
3) Middleweight: 171 to 185 lb (78 to 84 kg)
4) Light Heavyweight: 186 to 205 lb (85 to 93 kg)
5) Heavyweight: 206 to 265 lb (94 to 120 kg)

A date stamp as to when a participant submitted their picks will be the tie breaker for the leader-boards (which shall maintain the high scores). The earliest submission of all the tying participants will have the higher rank placement on the leader-board; however, scores will be shown as equal. Belts will not be awarded until there is a clear winner with a highest score. Scoring is based only on the matches actually completed in the current event. If, for any reason, a match is postponed you will only receive points for those matches that are officially completed. NOTE: The official results of the Game will be determined by the applicable governing athletic commission overseeing the bouts during the event. Any later changes or appeals to the bout results made after the event evening shall not affect the outcome of the Game.

GAME DEADLINES

The deadline to play and select winners of each match or to make changes to picks that have already been made is 30 (thirty) minutes prior to the start of the first bout of the respective event. No selections or changes to picks will be allowed inside of 30 (thirty) minutes prior to the start time of the first bout.

Sponsor is not responsible for any late, lost, garbled, misdirected, incomplete, or damaged entries; any game disruptions, injuries, losses or damages caused by events beyond the control Sponsor or any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the game test. Sponsor or any subsidiary or affiliated company of any of the foregoing, are not in any way responsible or liable for any damage, loss or injury (including death) resulting from participation in the Game and/or acceptance and use of any prize won. Sponsor is solely responsible for enacting, administering, enforcing the rules, and maintaining the integrity of the Game. Sponsor reserves the right to review and arbitrate all changes, including votes, in order to uphold the integrity of the game and prevent collusion.

GENERAL

By entering the Game and/or accepting prizes, entrants/prize winners agree to: (a) be bound by these rules; and (b) to release Sponsors and their respective parents subsidiaries, members, affiliates, franchises, and their agents from all liability, claims, action, or proceedings relating to the Sweepstakes and from injuries or damages arising in connection with or relating to participation in the Game or use of the prizes. All taxes and other expenses not specified herein, including federal, state, local, and departure, licenses and registrations, are the sole responsibility of the winners. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Sponsor reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend this game at anytime. Sponsors may prohibit any entrant from participating in the Game or winning a prize if, in their sole discretion, they determine such entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Game by cheating, hacking deception, or any other unfair playing practices or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrants or Sponsor representatives. In the case of a dispute, the winner will be deemed to be the person in whose name the email account or telephone service account is opened. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE GAME MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF SUCH ENTRANT AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY'S FEES) FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
